Description
Much Wenlock offers the rustic charm of a medieval market-town, filled with a patchwork of twisting streets, black and white half-timbered buildings, limestone cottages, speciality shops, numerous hostelries and watering holes and the remains of a magnificent 12th Century Priory.
Cowslip Cottage was originally a barn and has been lovingly restored to offer accommodation for up to 2 people. It is situated just over 3 miles away from Much Wenlock, in 70 acres of farmland. It retains much of its original charm, through exposed beams that run throughout the property. The accommodation is spread out over one level and is arranged in an open-plan style. The communal garden to the rear has two fishing lakes and allows ample opportunity for a spot of alfresco dining in the summer months. There is parking for up to 2 cars and local amenities can be found in Much Wenlock.

Oil central heating with electric fire in sitting room. Electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, washer/dryer, TV, DVD player, radio. All fuel and power inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Off road parking for two cars. Large 3 acre, lawned garden with 2 large fish stocked pools, garden furniture and BBQ. Two small dogs welcome. Sorry, no smoking. There is free private trout fishing on site (fish must be returned to pond). Shops and restaurants in Much Wenlock 3.5 miles, pub 1.5 miles. Note: Only suitable for a babe in arms. There is a private spring water supply. There are two unfenced ponds in the garden. Note: The doors at this cottage are not large enough for a wheelchair. Note: The mobile signal in this area is very poor. |

Peaceful, uncrowded and still largely devoted to farming, this is one of England’s most unspoilt counties, as you’ll discover during a break in one of our holiday cottages in Shropshire. Take a walk on the Long Mynd a dramatic ridge which stands high over the landscape, then pop in to the small village of Church Stretton which nestles in the valley below for a hearty tea.
The county town of Shrewsbury sits on a hill almost completely surrounded by a loop in the river Severn. Here you’ll find Elizabethan timber-framed buildings and handsome Georgian terraces. Shropshire even has its own centre of gastronomy in the charming town of Ludlow, which boasts a number of Michelin starred restaurants as well as a profusion of specialist food shops. The splendid Norman castle at Ludlow is also well worth a visit, as is nearby Stokesay Castle, both within a short drive of our holiday cottages in Shropshire.
Seeing Shropshire today it’s hard to believe it was actually the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution. You can see where it all started at Ironbridge Gorge. Don’t miss Blists Hill, which recreates life at the turn of the twentieth century.
